Spanish Lessons in Lake Atitlan 

Clemente determined quickly that I had arrived in Lake Atitlan with a lot of book-knowledge of Spanish but a big need for conversation and practice in the language. Thus, we divided our time between intensive grammar lessons and focused conversation—on current events, history and politics, real-life scenarios that would require precise communication. We talked about anything and everything that came to mind. Clemente encouraged me to use in conversation the grammar forms that I felt shaky about. By the end of our two weeks together my confidence with Spanish was so much better. We had turned my weak areas into strong ones and built new vocabulary in many different fields. Kit W

He was excellent and implemented various things into the classes like grammar, vocabulary, reading, conversation, idioms and cultural aspects of Guatemala. My Spanish classes with Clemente were so beneficial. They were a perfect blend of working on my grammar and vocabulary, as well as conversation. I found Clemente to be very patient and kind. He made a lot of space for me to practice my Spanish conversationally, and seemed to know when to correct me and when to let it go, and just give me homework to work on things like tenses.
